At the top of our Saskatoon family bucket list for late summer and early fall is catching one of the terrific corn mazes around the city. We recently explored the five-acre superhero-themed corn maze at the Saskatoon Italian Cultural Centre.
There are two sides to this maze: a shorter "kids maze" and a more intricate side. We opted to do both, and I can vouch that both are fun and challenging adventures.
You can answer super-hero themed questions and find the coloured dots around the maze in order to enter a prize draw. The kids liked searching for these seven posters that are located on both sides of the maze.
After finding our way out of the maze, we took in a couple games of bocce ball. The bocce ball courts are included in the price of the maze {$10 general admission, $9 for ages 11 to 16, $8 for ages 5 to 10, 4 and under free}. My kids really loved this!
On long weekends, you'll also find a bouncy castle on the premises. There are also picnic tables and a concession.
The Saskatoon Italian Cultural Centre Corn Maze runs August through October on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holiday Mondays between the hours of 1 and 7 p.m. They will also host night mazes October 18 and 19 and scary night mazes on Oct. 26 and 27, all from 7 to 10 p.m. For Halloween, you're invited to wear a costume while visiting the maze between 4 and 10 p.m.
The maze is located off Highway 7 on Cedar Villa Road. Visit the SICC web site and Facebook page for more details.
