I have always loved food! However, since becoming a mom, food has become even more meaningful to me.
Food is how we fuel our growing and active kids. My family gathers around the table up to five times a day for meals and snacks, so I consider keeping a good variety of healthy foods in the rotation to be one of my most important roles. How fortunate we are in Saskatchewan to have an amazing year-round supply of safe and nutritious foods!
The table is also a great place for conversation in our home. We share highlights from our day, plans for the future and lots of laughs. The food itself is often part of our discussions.
During October, the province of Saskatchewan is celebrating Agriculture Month with the theme "Our Food Has a Story." I was asked to share a bit of my "food story," which includes how I talk with my kids about food. Here's a short video clip from my food story:
I will be sharing more food stories on my blog, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter throughout the month.
Share your own food stories throughout October to be entered to win weekly prize packs. Simply post a food story text, picture or video on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #OurFoodHasAStory. Click here for full contest details.
