You may choose from a variety of topics presented by knowledgeable speakers, and come away from the day with valuable information on common issues that challenge parents, such as positive discipline techniques for children of all ages. The event is sponsored by Family Service Saskatoon and inspired by a program from the former Saskatoon Alderian Society. After 34 years of providing support and resources to families, the SAS ceased operations at the end of 2010. Through a new committee of volunteer organizers, the Day For Parents legacy lives on to promote Alderian principles such as mutual respect and encouragement in parent-child relationships.
The cost is $30 per person and $50 per couple, which includes lunch. The registration deadline is April 12.
