a fun day at silverspring park

Silverspring Park, located at 710 Konihowski Road, is a fun little park with a lot to do in one place. You will find three playgrounds in the vicinity, a spray park, great green space, picnic tables, a sledding hill and walking trails.

The Silverspring Park has an older playground with taller slides and climbing structures for older kids.

My family absolutely loves the nearby Mother Theresa Elementary School playground, which is a newer playground with these terrific features:

~ a roller slide

~ two side-by-side slides
~ one tall slide

~ an ABC ladder

~ infant swings

~ regular swings

~ hinged balance beam
~ other unique climbing structures

~ uneven, moving stepping stones

~ a braille numbered clock

~ a steering wheel

~ chimes

The Silverspring Elementary School playground is also in close proximity to this park.  There are no fences to keep the general public out of either school playground, but you would likely want to move to another area of the park during school recess hours.

A great opportunity to check out this lovely park was Sunday, Sept. 12, between 12:30 and 4 p.m. during the Fun Day at Silverspring Park. It was a great, fun-filled afternoon for the family. Event organizers planned pony rides, Singing with Sylvia, magicians, treats, Astro Jumps and concessions (including my fair favourite-- snow cones).
