by Clinton Monchuk (as a thoughtful Mother's Day gift to his wife)
I never really considered Saskatoon to be a pinnacle of wine selection, until I entered Cava Secreta. This private wine store features over 750 labels, many of which you can’t find anywhere else in town.
(I don’t claim to be a wine expert. But, I know a couple connoisseurs from British Columbia’s Fraser Valley who say Cava Secreta is the best wine store they have ever visited.)
Cava Secreta just moved out of its Saskatoon Farmers' Market space to a more spacious location just across the street, on the corner of 19th Street West and Avenue A. The larger location also allows more room for gourmet food products, stemware, the Cava Caffé...and you and your baby gear.
You may enjoy a lunch of freshly made soup and a sandwich at the Cava Caffé, followed by a little taste of an expertly selected wine. (Please sample responsibly.)
Cava Secreta has in-store wine tastings every Saturday, as well as other promos and samplings such as one being held on Wednesday, May 12.
