 Singing with Sylvia for Christmas

buying in bulk

One area that my economist husband likes to look at is how we can lower our bills. One way he recommends is buying in bulk. Costco not only has good deals, but also can be a good location for a baby adventure.

Similar to our adventure at Home Depot, Costco is more or less a warehouse for consumerism, stacked 20 feet high. A running commentary on all the sights and sounds and age-appropriate involvement in the shopping can make this an enjoyable time for both parent and baby.

Both the men's and women's bathrooms are equipped with a change table. The large space between aisles make manoeuvring your cart very simple. Plus, you don't have to worry if you forgot to pack the snacks, as there are more than enough taste-testing stations throughout the store.

I recommend going in off hours -- like early in the morning -- as the parking lot turns into a traffic zoo pretty quickly. Also, leave room in your tank, as gas is cheaper out there as well.

Costco is a membership club. An annual membership card costs between $50 and $100, depending the benefits you want.
