Buttons 'n' Bows, owned by Saskatoon mother of two Shelly White, sells children's clothing and accessories, from micro-preemie up to size 12. It also carries a large selection of children's NHL and Roughrider apparel. In May, it will begin carrying Reebok Roughrider merchandise for newborns up to youth sizes.
Most of its products -- shoes, toys, swimwear, cloth diapers, you name it -- have been tested by Shelly's 2-year-old Carter, who his older brother refers to as "the official baby of Buttons 'n' Bows."
One of its best sellers is Sophie the Giraffe, a popular teething toy made from natural rubber and food-grade paint. "Carter cut 14 teeth chewing on Sophie," Shelly said. "Today, he just feeds Sophie popcorn and gives her hugs and kisses."
Until a recent visit to the Buttons 'n' Bows Lawson Heights Mall location, I was somehow unaware that there is an entire Sophie collection! Buttons 'n' Bows stocks the original Sophie, Sophie teethers, bath towels and even plush, stuffed Sophies.
