 Singing with Sylvia for Christmas

saturday morning rise and shine story time

Saturday mornings at 10:30 a.m., the Frances Morrison Library offers a special time for families in Pooh Corner. Pooh Bear promises stories, stretching, songs and special surprises for little ones of all ages.

For some reason, my son and I had not visited Pooh Corner until this past week.  I had no idea what fun we were missing!  He absolutely loved the books and songs, and he even joined the preschool-age kids down front to give Pooh Bear and all of his friends a big hug before we left.

After storytime is finished, many of the parents and children congregate in the children's book section of the library, where there is a big free-for-all in the toybox. It is sort of a closed in space without many escape routes, so parents can relax for a nice chat while their little ones interact. I met a couple really nice moms on outside Pooh Corner last time that I hope to have a coffee date with soon! (Call me!)

If you aren't familiar with the Frances Morrison Library at 311 - 23rd Street East, you will enter on 23rd Street and take the elevator to the second floor.  On the second floor, enter the doors to your left; you can't miss Pooh Corner.

You will want to arrive a little early, as seating fills up fast. Remove your coats and shoes to leave just outside Pooh Corner.

Like all Saskatoon Library events (that I know of), Pooh Corner is free!  You'll only have to pay for street parking or the bus. (By the way, Frances Morrison is only a block from the bus mall in the downtown core.)

I am so excited to join my son and husband for our first family Pooh Corner today.  See you there!
